St. Bartholomew’s C of E Primary School were delighted to welcome Adam Peaty MBE, World and Olympic swimming champion to open our new activity trail on Wednesday 27th September 2017.
Bart’s Badger Trail consists of 14 activity stations linked by a 300 metre track. The children helped to choose the equipment to develop their strength, balance and agility. The whole school participate in the Daily Mile challenge in which they run, jog or walk around the track for 15 minutes each day.
Bart’s Badger Trail has been developed through the generous support of Tarmac, the National Lottery, Tescoes and Waitrose. FoSBA, our PTA also raised funds to support the project.
Adam Peaty talked about his commitment to physical health and encouraged the children to work with determination to achieve their goals. He answered some of the children’s questions and then watched and encouraged the children as they demonstrated using the equipment.
Mrs Boston, the headteacher believes Bart’s Badger Trail is having a real positive influence on the children’s physical health and well-being. “It provides fun and challenge for all the children and staff.”
