3M Young Innovators Challenge
This year we were very lucky to have two finalists for the 3M challenge from
Mr Payne's class.
They took part in the canyon crossing challenge where they had to design a bridge from junk modelling materials to carry up to 10kg across a 'canyon' of 70cm. The bridge was then judged on its strength to weight ratio as well as the teams' ability to discuss and present the scientific principles behind their design. The girls performed amazingly to get to the final 6 out of 55 bridges, particularly as the competition was open to up to year 6! We are very proud to say they came second, out-performing all but one of the bridges which ended up being a very creative knitted bridge. The girls got a special commendation award for their efforts, along with £25 amazon vouchers each. See if you can spot them in this week's Loughborough echo or on the display at the front of school with the bridge.
Well done girls you were brilliant!
