Transition
The majority of our children move to Rawlins Academy, Quorn at the end of year 6. We have excellent links with Rawlins and there are a number of meetings and visits made by Rawlins staff to school during the year.
In the autumn term, there is an initial meeting with Rawlins staff and children have the chance to meet a senior staff member at our autumn parents evening. Later in the year, all information about the children is sent on to Rawlins, including details of friendship groups and any children with special needs. There are Open evenings early on in the year for parents and children to attend Rawlins and individual appointments can also be made to see key staff.
The year 6 teachers are fully involved with the transition process and our SENCO, for special needs children, is very well informed about the organisation at Rawlins if any advice is required.
