From the Autumn Term 2014, all children in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 have been entitled to a free hot lunch.
Parents and carers in years 3, 4, 5, and 6 receiving Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers’ Allowance are entitled to claim free school meals for their child. If you would like any information please do not hesitate to contact Miss Holland. We hold the appropriate claim forms in school and would be pleased to help process them for you.
A cafeteria system operates and there is a good choice of dishes including salad and a vegetarian option. Dietary needs are well catered for; always ask if you have specific requirements.
The current cost for school dinners is £2.20 per day / £11.00 per week. Payment is made by our secure on-line system, Parent Pay. Please contact Anna Holland, our Bursar for your personal login details and password. Payment should be made in advance. If you are unable to pay online then payment may also be made by cheque or cash. Please make cheques payable to "Leicestershire County Council" or "LCC".
We expect good table manners and excellent behaviour in our school dining hall. Please ensure that your child can use a knife and fork correctly.
Children can opt for a hot lunch, packed lunch from home or a mix of the two over the week. This must be agreed for the term to allow for ordering.
Children are well supervised during the lunch break by our team of Dining Supervisors and are encouraged to play a variety of different games. Play leaders from year 6 help with these and there are a number of clubs operating at lunchtime too. Please check the clubs list for the term to see what is on offer.
Children are entitled to a happy and enjoyable lunchtime.
